ABOUT CONSERVATION+CULTURE

CONSERVATION+CULTURE is a conservation studio focusing on paper-based and photographic heritage that operates according to the highest standards in the heritage conservation field. From fine art to archival materials and family heirlooms, the preservation of culture is at the center of our work. We offer a wide range of conservation and restoration services and can consult on all aspects of preservation for individual objects or collections.

Vincent Dion, the owner and principal conservator, is an expert in works on paper, photographic materials, and new media. His extensive training includes internships at prestigious institutions like the Canadian Conservation Institute and the National Gallery of Canada, as well as advanced studies in contemporary art conservation at the Getty Conservation Institute and the Hirshhorn Museum. As an accredited member of the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators, Vincent brings a wealth of knowledge and specialised skills to every project.

The studio also nurtures emerging talent, such as John Habib, a graduate intern from Queen's Art Conservation, and Garnet Lewis-McQuaid, an assistant conservator with a background in Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management from Fleming College. Together, this team works on a variety of conservation challenges, leveraging their collective expertise and dedication to the preservation of cultural heritage.
