Biography

Tchiprout's artistic career began with her studies in Fine Art Printmaking at the University of Brighton, where she honed her skills in a variety of printmaking techniques. Her education included a formative exchange semester at the Bezalel School of Art and Design in Jerusalem, which influenced her exploration of Jewish themes in her work.

Following her undergraduate studies, Tchiprout pursued an MA in Fine Art Print at UAL Camberwell College of Art in London, completing her degree in 2020.

Tchiprout's work is rooted in the practice of drawing, which serves as the foundation for her diverse artistic output. Her creative process is distinctive, involving the construction of physical puppet characters that she then uses as models for her paintings, drawings, and prints.

Tchiprout's artistic career has seen a rapid ascent in recent years, with her work gaining recognition in numerous galleries and exhibitions. In 2023, she held her debut solo exhibition, Two Eyes Wide Open At The Edge Of Dawn, at the Marlborough Gallery in London. This exhibition showcased her paintings, monotypes, and etchings, all centred around her signature puppet characters.

The artist's work has been featured in several notable group exhibitions, including The Top 100 at The Department Store and Life Of Venus at The Tub, both in London in 2021. These exhibitions helped to establish Tchiprout as a rising voice in the Contemporary Art scene.

Tchiprout's artistic practice is characterised by her methodology of creating physical puppet characters. These puppets, inspired by Yiddish theatre, are crafted from wood and clay and adorned with handmade clothes and accessories, serving as the models for her artwork. This approach allows her to create a world that exists between reality and imagination.

Her art often explores themes of Jewish identity, femininity, and intergenerational connection, drawing inspiration from Jewish literature and art history. Tchiprout's work has been recognised for its ability to depict the experiences of Jewish women.
