Meaning & Analysis

This Banksy print depicts a police van that was turned into a quasi-adventure playground. Children are playing on it and sliding down its side, and there is a colourful rainbow painted above. There were only 52 of these prints gifted to the Dismaland stewards from Banksy’s show Dismaland in 2015 held in Weston Super Mare, all of which are slightly different. This specific piece is an A4 print with Banksy signature and dedication which is in black ink. As this was a gift, Pest Control will not issue a COA, however the original payslip will be included within the sale. The same police van was also parked in Dismaland during Banksy’s project.

  • Renowned British street artist, Banksy, is the enigmatic figure behind some of the most subversive works in the Urban Art scene. Despite his anonymity, the artists' disruptive stunts have not only gained him notoriety, but they have vocalised his stance on many social and political issues. As seen with the likes of Girl With Balloon and Napalm, Banksy uses his distinctive stencil technique to produce thought-provoking commentaries on challenging themes. The showcase of rebellion that lines his work has caused his secondary market value to soar in recent years, propelling him to the top of the Urban Art scene.
